Objective 1: By the completion of this clinical rotation in November 2023, my goal is to gained a more comprehensive understanding of psychotropic treatments utilized in the management of mood disorders, anxiety, and psychotic disorders among both pediatric and adult populations. This aim will be achieved by completing 160 hours in the PMHNP specialty with the guidance of my preceptor.
Objective 2: By the conclusion of this practicum quarter, my objective is to develop the skillset necessary for recognizing and addressing six potential psychiatric mental health disorders in accordance with the DSM-VTR guidelines. This entails the ability to effectively treat these conditions using suitable psychotropic medications and psychotherapy approaches.
Objective 3: By the conclusion of this practicum, I will have developed the capability to identify instances where adjustments, modifications, discontinuations, or additions are required for a client’s medication regimen. I will adeptly carry out these adjustments considering both the client’s subjective experiences and objective indicators. Achieving this goal will involve completing the essential clinical hours for the PMHNP specialization and engaging in collaborative efforts with my preceptor.
