What is your current contribution to the practice you are involved with? Calculate the revenue you generate. Also, evaluate the overhead in your practice site.

Percentage of visits Average reimbursement per visit Amount reimbursed per week
Problem focused level 10% of 40=4/week
$40 $160/week
Expanded problem focused level 35% of 40= 14/week $60 $840/week
Detailed 35% of 40=14/week $60 $840/week
Comprehensive 20% of 40=8/week %105 $840/week
Totals 40 visits per week Average reimbursements per visit= $60 $2400/week

The learner:
1. Works 48 weeks per year= 48*2400= $115,200
2. Sees 20 patients a week
3. Has an average of 40 visits each week
The billing agent estimates that the overhead consumes 15% of the revenue. As a result, $17,280 of her revenue is used to cover the cost of supporting staff, licensing, rent, benefits, etc. An additional $$17,280 is available for salary and profits.
Based on your revenue calculations, what amounts of funds are left for salary and profit? How does this correlate with your current salary?
The learner generates $115,200 revenue in practice with an overhead cost of 15% ($17,280). Hence, $115,200-$17,280=$97,920 available for salary and profit. This correlates to being less than the current salary by less than %17,280 per year.
What opportunities exist in your practice that add value to your services and improve patient care quality?
The Jackson Nephrology Association company provides B2C (business-to-consumer) services in the form of physicians providing online services to its dialysis patients via the internet at its setting in Mississippi. This allows physicians in the facility to add value by providing consultation services via telehealth and teleconferencing hence improving the quality of patient care (Waxman, 2018).

Technological reforms that are taking place in healthcare organizations aim to improve the quality of care offered to patients and enhance cost-effectiveness. They present great opportunities for contemporary organizations that are determined to succeed in the industry (Esteban et al., 2021). For example, as you have stated clearly in your discussion, an opportunity at the Jackson Nephrology Association company concerns the use of telehealth to provide online consultation and teleconferencing services to its dialysis patients via the internet at its setting in Mississippi. In addition to improving the quality of care, telehealth is more cost-effective to organizations when compared to the provision of standard care (Waxman, 2018). Esteban et al. (2021) conducted a study to compare the cost-effectiveness of telemonitoring using a telEPOC programme and standard care of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The study revealed that the cost of providing care to patients using a telEPOC was relatively lower than the cost incurred in providing standard care to the patients. Guided by this evidence, doctorally-prepared nurses at your facility should support the organization to implement telehealth technology as a cost-reduction strategy and as a means of improving the quality of care provided to patients at home.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) nurses adequately understand that technology is at the center of quality and safe patient care. Essential IV of doctorally-prepared nurses requires graduates to possess advanced knowledge and skills to utilize information systems and technology to support clinical decision-making and practice leadership. DNP nurses should participate in technological innovation to improve healthcare delivery and quality of care (American Association of Colleges of Nursing, 2016). Nurses at the facility should utilize their knowledge and skills in this area to ensure effective use of telehealth in the provision of online consultation and teleconferencing services to dialysis patients.
