Intent, design, sampling process, summary of findings
needs to summarize all the articles submitted following the rubric provided. A paragraph per source. First paragraph explains how the initial search was conducted . The requirement was to search in Cochrane for any Meta analyses or systematic reviews, using the words mindfulness, nurse or nursing and covid-19 0 were found, next step I searched in CINAHL complete and MEDLINE complete databases combined a, the result was 99 sources there were no systematic reviews or meta analyses. Im sure you can assist with how other sources were not selected. The other requirement is a diagram listing the sources on a table on a separate paper as shown on the document downloaded.
Things to consider for part 2—for each article/study —intent, design, sampling process, summary of findings, etc
Patterson (2016) conducted a mixed-method design study exploring the use of emotional freedom technique (EFT) for decreasing anxiety and stress in nursing students. The researcher recruited participants from the 250 associate degree nursing students enrolled in a program in southeastern United States, excluding those currently being treated for anxiety and those who were already regular users of EFT. The convenience sample of 37 participants began the pilot study with an introductory session and then four follow-up sessions scheduled a week apart. All were group sessions except for the third follow-up session which had the students practice independently and complete the surveys remotely. The researcher developed the qualitative tool for the study which was used in addition to the Perceived Stress Scale and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. In addition to participant demographic data collected during recruitment, participants completed both quantitative instruments at baseline and weekly via SurveyMonkey. The participants provided qualitative data on a short questionnaire after the final practice session. The researcher utilized SPSS for data analysis. Patterson concluded that the nursing students’ anxiety was reduced at the end of the study per the PSS and the STAI, reduced by 23.8% and 34.2%, respectively. The study’s qualitative results on the six-item self-report questionnaire also reflect a reduction in anxiety and stress. Additionally, 51% of participants also reported a reduction in somatic symptoms. About a third of the participants reported EFT might have impacted their mood, 56% reported feeling less stress and anxiety after using the technique for four weeks, and 43% reported they were better able to cope after the four weeks.
These things may be considered for part 3…
Strengths: statistically significant results, use of 2 recognized and validated tools
Limitations: convenience sample, sample mainly women (only 4 men), qualitative tool was created by the researcher (not validated)
