Question 1.
How can advance practice nurses (APNs) become involved in health policy and/or health outcomes at the local, state, national or international levels? Describe how you can personally get involved in health issues from a political perspective.

Question 2
Perception is essential to effective communication. Therefore, it is not only important to understand ones own perception, but we should also try to understand the perception of others. Ones perception is strongly influenced by background, interests, beliefs and values, as well as physiological, cultural, social and psychological influences.
Consequently, ones perception can cause them to misread/misunderstand a situation because of what their perception of the situation is. When trying to understand another person’s perception, based on my experience, there are typically (4) views to consider:
(1) I am right, you are wrong.
(2) you are right, I am wrong;
(3) we both are right, we both are wrong.
(4) the issue at hand is not important.:

Of the 4 examples provided above respond to number 4 that is in bold

Healthcare Policy and Leadership
Nurses can get involved in health policy in many ways. First, advanced practice nurses (APNs) can join professional nursing organizations at both the local and the state levels to advocate for better health policies. These organizations present nursing issues to Capitol Hill in the US through lobbyists (Hajizadeh et al., 2021). Nurses should also participate in population health within the community to address health concerns by advocating for better services, resources, community education, and basic provision. Joining other international and humanitarian organizations such as WHO, CDC, and the Red Cross also gives nurses the opportunity to participate in international health issues and recommend policies that can influence international health (Hajizadeh et al., 2021). Health research also provides a potent way through which an APN can inform and influence health policy by giving empirical evidence and recommendations.
Political Perspective
Politically, nurses can get involved in health policy by running for a pollical office and assuming leadership roles in a political position or the healthcare system to participate in legislation processes. A nurse can also contract an elective official to edge to fight for a given position on a health bill (Rasheed, Younas, & Mehdi, 2020). Another way is by becoming an intern in an office of an elective official to work on matters related to health and influence policy-making activities. Nursing can also get formal training in politics to participate in city councils and committees and run for local office to influence health policymaking (Rasheed, Younas, & Mehdi, 2020). Mostly, importantly, a advanced practice nurses (APNs) should be alert to take any presented opportunity to participate in policymaking actively.
